I used this to protect my Macbook during a 1200 mile kayak trip. Took it in and out of a cargo hatch twice a day. It performed perfectly. I would recommend this item to anyone. It works well under wet conditions. It was never submerged, but it was splashed with water everyday. Great case.

Great for backpacking and semi-discreet laptop carrying. Saved my laptop from water damage at least once already. Plenty of room for a 2015 15' Macbook Pro.

Took this bag on a 5-month trip
My girlfriend and I just took one of these bags each on a 5-month backpacking trip all over Southeast Asia. They added a little more weight to our backpacks, but they were totally worth it.It wasn't rainy season so they probably weren't tested the way they could have been, but it did rain occasionally and we did occasionally travel by boat. Our backpacks were not waterproof and had no rain covers, so these laptop bags provided us with great peace of mind not just for our laptops, but also for all our other important documents and devices, which we put in there as well (we were using 11' MacBook Airs with the 13' laptop bags).

The soft padded casing inside comes out.
The soft padded casing inside comes out. It would be nicer if the entire thing was lined in general because I have to take the soft inside shell out, put my laptop in it, then put it in the outside casing. Instead of just one step. Otherwise, it keeps the laptop dry. Haven't tried submerging it though. Don't think I would.
