91 miles in the mountain under this tarp.

91 miles in the mountain under this tarp. Light, kept me dry. Great tarp.

Ripped first time out.

Ripped on the first camping trip when being used overhead. The wind tore it. This wasn’t a storm or anything. Just regular wind. Also the sack is too small. It’s a chore to fold that neatly.

Worth the price, great tarp!

I bought this for car-camping with my wife, my 3yr old and my 1 yr old. The primary purpose for purchasing this tarp is to protect items outside of our '89 VW westy from the rain when we climb inside to go to sleep. This tarp has met my expectations, which is amazing (for it is a darn pricey tarp, so my expectations were very high given the cost).I have a backpacking background, I use to do Search and Rescue in which we would would do wilderness training every 3rd weekend. This is an excellent addition to a pack for minimalist backwoods hiking, it folds down very small, and I really like the integrated webbing for easy staking and the webbing in the center for easy attachment to a higher point (making a sloped cover).I cannot speak to it's durability, for mine has had minimal use and what usage it has had hasn't (did I use enough 'has'' there?) been harsh. What comforts me on this particular tarp is that when I fold it up, it traps air that takes a moment to disperse (like 3 seconds max). I like this, because it informs me that the tarp has a great 'seal' for not allowing air to quickly escape boosting my confidence in it's ability to repel water.

This tarp is SWEET!

Big enough to cover my hammock and light enough to pack. I am so glad I didn't let my natural tightness with money make me buy a cheap tarp. It's going to require more careful handling than a cheap tarp but so what? Try putting a thirteen by ten HF tarp in your pack.

Can make or break a camping trip.

On a overnight hike in Tennessee in April, had expected rain to taper off, had expected temperatures in the 40's. Well it didn't turn out as planned. On the 5 mile hike into the campsite we had snow and sleet. We were sure to have wet wood at the site and just nasty conditions. We quickly strung up this tarp at the site put a couple of chairs under it and started a small fire on a flat rock under the tarp. Once the fire got going we picked up the rock and moved it a few feet away, by then it didn't matter how wet the wood was. If we didn't have this tarp the trip would have been a total loss, we would have been in our tents trying desperately to stay warm. You could make do with a $15 tarp from your local hardware store, but you wouldn't get as much use out of it. This tarp is light, it is thin, but incredibly durable, the tie out points are sturdy and the placement of them give you a multitude of options for configurations. My tarp saved the trip...all there is to it.
